Driving you home every afternoon, Brad Austin has been with WXCY since July of 2013 and is our resident ‘cheesehead’. Growing up in Milwaukee, WI he started in radio when he was just 15!
Although Brad pretty much grew up in radio, he did have several odd jobs before making radio his full-time career after graduating High School. He did inventory for stores and businesses, worked food and beer stands at the WI State Fair Park and also had a budding career as a cashier/bagger at a grocery store in Milwaukee. He’s thankful radio became the long-term path as his future in the grocery industry wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. I guess you could say our boy Brad wasn’t quite cut out for the “10 items or less” express lane.
Brad’s lived in some interesting places before settling near the MD/DE state line. Among the cornfields in the midwest, along the Gulf of Mexico in Southern Mississippi, on both shores of Lake Michigan, in America’s 1st capitol (York, PA) but he’s happy to call this area home now! A homeowner in Cecil County, Brad is a happy dog dad to Lacey the yellow lab and enjoys doing a variety of things in his spare time including traveling, attending concerts, playing poker and playing video games.
“Without the WXCY listener family, I’m just a guy alone in a room talking to myself. Our listener family isn’t the most important thing… they’re the ONLY thing! We love them!” says Brad. We couldn’t agree more. Thanks for riding home with Brad every afternoon from 3-7pm on New Country, 103.7 WXCY!
