Could Charlie Harper be making an appearance on the final season of Two and a Half Men? Rumors are circulating that Charlie Sheen and creator Chuck Lorre are both considering the idea even though the character was killed off back in 2011 following a very public battle between Sheen, the show, and the network.

Charlie told TV Guide, "I've reached out to them and they've reached back. We're trying to figure out what makes the most sense. If they figure it out like I've presented it to them and they want to include me in some final send-off, I'm available and I'm showing up early. If not, it's on them."

  • Chuck discussed the possibility of Charlie's return to E! last month saying, "We haven't discussed that, really. We've been really focused on finding a storyline that puts Jon and Ashton front and center in a really interesting, provocative hopefully fun story. That was our priority going into this year, was to do a storyline that puts these two guys right in the middle of it. So outside characters will come in as they do, but that's not the focus."

Juliette Lewis insists that there are a lot of misconceptions out there about Scientology. The Kelly & Cal actress recently chatted with The Daily Beast where she defended the religion and the media crusade against Tom Cruise after he spoke out against prescribed medication on the Today show.

Juliette said, "I'll get all conspiratorial on you. I'm just going to throw this out: The mainstream media is funded by pharmaceutical companies. When you have the biggest movie star in the world at the time -- Tom Cruise -- coming out against anti-depressants and Ritalin and just saying, 'Hey, why don't you put a warning label on there?'...So, when Tom came out about that, I've never seen someone get torn down so hard, and they still brutalize him with Scientology pieces to this day." She continued, "The thing about Scientology is it is anti-drug in that you're seeking relationship or communication tools -- simple basics on how to live better. It's a religious philosophy and self-help movement. And you'll never see a truthful word written about it in mainstream media."

New York Times TV Critic Alessandra Stanley continues to deal with the backlash of her review of Shonda Rhimes' new ABC show, How to Get Away With Murder. In addition to her comment about Shonda calling her memoir "How to Get Away With Being an Angry Black Woman," the writer has also come under fire for writing that Viola Davis isn't as pretty as other African American actresses.

Alessandra wrote, "The actress doesn't look at all like the typical star of a network drama. Ignoring the narrow beauty standards some African-American women are held to, Rhimes chose a performer who is older, darker-skinned and less classically beautiful than Kerry Washington, or for that matter Halle Berry, who played an astronaut on the summer mini-series Extant."

  • Viola took to Twitter on Saturday (September 20th) to offer a response in the form of a Maya Angelou quote. She wrote, "You may shoot me with your words, you may cut me with your eyes, you may kill me with your hatefulness, But still, like air, I'll rise!!!"
  • The quote is taken from Angelou's 1978 work, Still I Rise.
  • New York Times public editor Margaret Sullivan added her voice to the list of people who did not agree with Stanley's critique. She wrote in a blog post on Monday (September 22nd,) "The article on the television producer Shonda Rhimes hadn't yet appeared in Sunday's paper, but the virtual world was ablaze in protest over it on Friday after it was published online. There are some big questions here -- about diversity, about editing procedures and about how The Times deals with stories about women and race. They are worth exploring in depth. This is a preliminary post, and I'll be adding to it later today, or posting again. But I’ll say this much: The readers and commentators are correct to protest this story. Intended to be in praise of Ms. Rhimes, it delivered that message in a condescending way that was -- at best -- astonishingly tone-deaf and out of touch."

Sarah Silverman wants to make it clear that she is not looking to become Michael Sheen's wife. The comedian took to Twitter on Sunday (September 21st) to slam a recent Star magazine story with the headline, "Sarah Wants A Ring."

Sarah wrote, "Just read that I wanna get married which is hilarious b/c I will never get married. Why would I want the govt involved in my love life? Ew. It's barbaric. That s**t never bothers me b/c who cares but I feel like this one is bigoted. The Jew girl MUST want a RING! Yich."
She expressed similar views in Playboy back in 2010 saying, "It's just not for me. I'm a vegetarian, but I don't have a problem if you want a hamburger. Marriage, to me, is like eating meat. I think it's gross and f***ing crazy. It's this superbarbaric, old-timey tradition that no one remembers we don't have to do anymore. I really do believe in love. I've experienced it, I've had it, so I know it's real."

EMMA WATSON SPEAKS ON GENDER EQUALITY: Emma Watson spoke over the weekend at the HeForShe Event at UN headquarters in New York City where she discussed why feminism should not only be a female issue. She told the crowd, "Men, I would like to take this opportunity to extend your formal invitation. Gender equality is your issue, too. I've seen young men suffering from illness, unable to ask for help for fear it will make them less of a man...I've seen men fragile and insecure by a distorted sense of what constitutes male success. Men don't have the benefits of equality, either. We don't often talk about men being imprisoned by gender stereotypes but I can see that they are." Emma was named as a goodwill ambassador for UN women six months ago.

IS TOM HARDY SECRETLY MARRIED?: UK's The Mirror is reporting that Tom Hardy and his girlfriend, Charlotte Riley, got married over the summer in secret. The ceremony allegedly took place at a castle in the South of France on July 4th. A source revealed, "It was a beautiful, low-key day made even more special because they just had their closest friends and family around them. Tom's son Louis played a key role during the ceremony. And they made certain to pick a stunning and private setting. There was nothing flash about the wedding, they always said they wanted it to be about the two of them and their family rather than any grand gesture." The news has not yet been confirmed by the couple.
