ON THIS DAY Gretchen Wilson's Here For The Party album was certified quadruple-platinum in 2005. Blake Shelton earned a Number One single in Billboard with "The Baby" in 2003. In 2001, Alabama's Randy Owen and Brooks and Dunn were among the mourners gathered in Charlotte, North Carolina to remember NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, who had died in a crash at the Daytona 500 days earlier. Randy performed at the service.

ON THIS DAY Taylor Swift began a two-day shoot in Nashville for her "Picture To Burn" video in 2008. "American Soldier" claimed the Number One position in Billboard for Toby Keith in 2004. The Everything I Love album went gold and platinum at the same time for Alan Jackson in 1997. Garth Brooks' Fresh Horses album was certified gold, platinum and triple-platinum simultaneously in 1996. Boxcar Willie joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1981.

February 17: Did You Know...
ON THIS DAY Porter Wagoner gave his first Los Angeles concert in nearly 40 years, opening for Neko Case at the Henry Fonda Theatre, in 2007. He employed an all-star band with guitarist Marty Stuart, bass player Dwight Yoakam and drummer Billy Bob Thornton. Brad Paisley was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2001 wearing the yellow jacket that Buck Owens wore the night he recorded his Live At Carnegie Hall album. Jamie O'Neal peaked at Number One in Billboard with "There Is No Arizona" in 2001.

ON THIS DAY Brad Paisley's "I'm Still A Guy" was released to radio in 2008. The Rascal Flatts album Me And My Gang went quadruple-platinum in 2007. Billy Currington earned a gold single with "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right" in 2006. Garth Brooks' "What She's Doing Now" became his eighth Number One hit in 1992. Ricky Van Shelton's debut album, Wild-Eyed Dream, was released in 1987. Dolly Parton won her first Grammy for "Here You Come Again" in 1979.

February 14: Did You Know...
ON THIS DAY Eric Church's "Homeboy" was released to radio in 2011. Keith Anderson performed for 33 couples at a mass wedding ceremony at Grand Affairs in Virginia Beach in 2010. Diamond Rio performed at Kunsan Air Force Base, beginning a 10-day tour of South Korea where they entertained American troops, in 2006. The Recording Industry Association of America awarded a gold single for Little Big Town's "Boondocks" in 2006. Forty couples were married in a mass Valentine's Day ceremony in Newport News, Virginia in 2002 where Steve Holy sang his hit "Good Morning Beautiful" for the couples' first dance. Hal Ketchum married Gina Pacconi at the Grace Methodist Church, in Austin, Texas in 1998.
